 Automated and Peer Evaluations 

These are some of the items that the instructor will use to score the final version of your article. Please help your classmates by giving HONEST and HELPFUL advice for how to improve their article. 

Lead section

  1. Does it have a lead section?  Circle: YES / NO

  2. Does the lead section come before the table of contents?  Circle: YES / NO

  3. Is the topic of the page in bold the first sentence?  Circle: YES / NO

  4. Is the first sentence a definition of the topic word?  Circle: YES / NO

  5. Is the lead section a summary of the rest of the article?  Circle: YES / NO

  6. What are your suggestions for ways to improve the Lead Section?

Non-English Language

1.  Are all non-English words (Thai, Khmer, Chinese, etc.) written in English with the native spelling for the first mention of the word?  For example:  Thaksin Shinawatra (Thai: ทักษิณ ชินวัตร)  Circle: YES / NO

2.  If “NO”, what are the non-English words which are not in this format?

Table of Contents (Section Headers)

  1. Is the Table of Contents well organized?  Circle: YES / NO

  2. What are your suggestions for ways to improve the Table of Contents and organization of the article?

Photos

  1. Does the article have enough photos?  Circle: Yes / No

  2. If “No”, what photos do you suggest should be added (if any)

Wiki-links, References, and Citations

  1. Are there links to other Wikipedia pages in the article?  Circle: YES / NO What other words in the article should be wiki-linked to other Wikipedia articles? 

  2. Does the article have a “References” header and section?  Circle: YES / NO

  3. How many references are at the end?   

  4. Are there any repeated references?  Circle: YES / NO

  5. Are there any “red font” errors in the reference list?  Circle: YES / NO

  6. Are the number of references and in-text citations enough or does it need more? Comment on how “academic” or “reputable” the sources are 

  7. What are your other suggestions for ways to improve the References section?

Final Evaluation

  1. Do you think this article meets Wikipedia standards and is ready to publish?  (Be HONEST!)

  2. ______ It’s ready to publish. Great job!

  3. ______ Just a few minor things to fix and then you can publish it

  4. ______ It still needs some work, but it shouldn’t take a long time
