Week 11

  Creating video reviews 

Goal:

Students write a script and a storyboard for their video reviews.  

Materials/Steps : Writing a video script and outlining a storyboard

Recap on the general purposes of a script and a storyboard.

Discuss the differences between a tutorial video (done in the hobby course) and a review video (going to do in this course).

 

  • Can you think of any differences between these two videos?  

  • Generally, would the way you plan and write a script/storyboard for a video review be different from that of a tutorial video? How and why? 

  • Do you think writing a script and a storyboard becomes more important in this course (given that you are going to do a group video review)? How and why? 

  • Any lessons you learned from making the tutorial video? How could you do it better this time?

Explain that, since they are different types of reviews, a video product review and a video media review should be scripted and created differently. Some general advices:

Tell students that the following week is a self-study week, and so they should start writing a script and/or a storyboard for the group video review assignment.
