Assessment Summary and Criteria

1. Assessment Summary

Assessment Task

Description

Weighting

Communication on Reddit

Students start a discussion about their hobby on Reddit. In particular, students create a post on a sub-reddit dedicated to the hobby, and interact with other hobbyists in the post (by replying to the comments).

10 %

Resources evaluation

Students evaluate 5 reading sources and 5 video sources for their hobby. To help them complete the task, the forms for evaluating reading sources and video sources are downloadable from the course website.

20 %

Learning reflection

Students write two learning reflections (for the 1st half and the 2nd half of the course). The purpose of this task is for them to critically reflect on their learning experience inside and outside the classroom. The length of a reflection is of their choice.

40 %

Tutorial video

Students create a tutorial video (about 5 minutes) demonstrating how to do their hobby. As the goal is to show their hobby to the world, they are encouraged to share the hobby video on Youtube.

      Marking
