Analyzing Your Model Article
Goal:
Students will choose a wiki article, similar in focus and content, as a model for their own writing. They will analyse the model to identify content and format in the genre of this particular area of Wikipedia page.
In the previous lesson students chose a topic for their own Wikipedia article. In this task, students explore Wiki pages with a topic and focus similar to the one they are planning to write, that can be used as a model. The model Wiki page should be relevant and not too detailed, so it can be used to guide writing.

Students analyze the model article for its organization, important content, its links to other Wiki pages, to sources cited outside of Wikipedia, and useful visuals, photographs, graphs, etc. This analysis will guide students frame their own Wiki page when they come to writing.
