Purpose: The aim of this activity is to help students explore elements and stages important for a good storyboard.

Background information: Reflection is an important part of the learning process, serving as a central feature of experiential education. Not only it solidifies the connection between what students have experienced and the learning from the experience, it also allows students to learn more about themselves.

Activity stages

  • Set up breakout rooms, and ask students to discuss (1) What was your initial expectation of the course? (2) Has it changed and how?

  • Ask students to spend 30 minutes reflecting on their learning experience. Some guiding questions: (1) How can you apply what you have learnt? (2) Did you have problems while doing your hobby? (3) What were they and how did you solve them?

  • Ask for volunteers to share and discuss their learning experience

  • Get feedback on the course from students: (1) what do you like about the course? (2) how could this course be improved?

Handouts:

Answers/models/note: To get feedback, teachers may send students an online form that allows anonymity in the students’ responses (e.g. https://forms.gle/YGt33yqmFVYHbTuGA)
